Michelle Archer, RD, CDE has worked as a diabetes educator for over 20 years where she has witnessed how a person centered approach improves the quality of life and health outcomes for people living with diabetes. She has a vision for Making a Difference in Diabetes in Canada and is passionate about helping people to discover their diabetes using their own life experiences to guide their journey.
Michelle delivers diabetes training programs to further Make a Difference in Diabetes by training all of us in the diabetes community. She is a highly skilled facilitator and sought-after public speaker leading diabetes education workshops for healthcare prescribers and professionals and also delivers workshops to community groups looking for updates and training for people living with diabetes. Michelle leads the Diabetes Manager University (DMU) training program and inspires and mentors health care professionals to more effective interactions with people living with diabetes. The Diabetes Manager University (DMU) program is available on-demand and online for those on the diabetes team who want to start learning today from their home or office. Now she is helping even more healthcare professionals from across Canada to Make a Difference in Diabetes.
Diabetes Training 101 Inc.™ was established in 2014 to continue the vision in Canada of “Making a Difference in Diabetes” pioneered by successful Certified Diabetes Educators Kris Swenson, RN, CDE and Betty Brackenridge, MS, RD, CDE of Diabetes Management and Training Centres of Phoenix, Arizona.
